If someone close to you has passed away, then you might want to do everything that you can to memorialize that person. There are a lot of different ways that you can do this, and you may want to make use of several of these ideas.

Purchase a Nice Urn

If your loved one was cremated, then you should think about buying a nice urn. Then, you can put their ashes in the urn and put it on display in your home or tuck it away in a hidden spot. Consider choosing an urn that represents your loved one's personality; for example, you can choose an urn that comes in your loved one's favorite color.

Purchase a Nice Headstone

If your loved one was buried at a cemetery, you will probably need to purchase a headstone. Check into the cemetery's rules about the types of headstones that you can have, and then look into your options. You can choose from different stones or metals when having the headstone made, and you can choose what you want to have engraved on it. You can also purchase a memorial stone, which is similar to a headstone but that can be set up anywhere as a memorial for your loved one. In many cases, you can order these stones from the same companies that you can order headstones from, so you may want to inquire about purchasing an additional memorial stone when you're placing your order for a headstone for your loved one.

Plant a Memorial Garden

You may not want to have to visit the cemetery in order to remember your loved one. With a memorial garden, you don't have to. You can plant all of your loved one's favorite flowers in the garden, and you can set up stepping stones, lawn decorations, and other items to make the garden look nice. You can even set up a bench or a few nice chairs so that you and your friends and family members can enjoy the garden and remember your loved one.

Make a Donation

If there was a charitable organization that your loved one really cared about, then you may want to consider making a donation to that organization in your loved one's honor. You can also look into donating to charitable organizations that promote research and awareness for health issues that your loved one might have had, which can be a good way to help others like your loved one in the future.
